Good bread takes time. Great sourdough takes more.

Great Sourdough has always taken time. Our slow-crafted process may take longer, but it’s worth the wait. Time-tested techniques - that’s what makes it rise to the occasion.

An Authentic Sourdough Starter

Most of the bread we make begins from a unique sourdough starter flown in from Germany. This doesn’t just preserve our tradition, however, it keeps our bread true to what it’s meant to be. Delicious flavour and aroma coupled with a perfectly springy texture for wholesome goodness in every bite.

We’re following the same 100-year-old family baking tradition along with time-honoured craftsmanship that began in Europe with our founder, and was perfected in Canada for all of us to enjoy.

And The Benefits of Slow Crafted, Sourdough?

It is true, we do take our time. Our craft process allows the flavour and texture of the bread to fully develop, which results in tangy & sour notes.

While more research is needed, some studies suggest that sourdough bread may help your body absorb more nutrients, and have a gentler effect on blood sugar*. This process is also what gives our sourdough its signature tangy flavour and chewy texture.

While many bakeries use additives to speed up the process, our belief in low and slow is where you’ll notice our craft at work. Taking sometimes up to 40 hours, we take the time that is needed to produce a wholesome flavour-packed loaf.
